Not Your Average Groomer LLC
Rules and Regulations
CANCELLATION / LATE POLICY
- 24 hours notice is required to cancel without a fee.
Confirmation texts will be provided 24 hours before the grooming appointment. Failure to respond by 8am of the day of your appointment, will result in a cancellation of the appointment. - Everyone is given one cancellation (without 24 hours notice) free of fees. Afterwards, all same day cancellations are responsible for 50% of the appointment cost and clients will not be rebooked after 3 instances. This fee will be applied to the next grooming service.
- No call/No show (no answer/no access) appointments are responsible for 100% of their appointment cost and will not be booked after 2 instances. This fee will be applied to the next grooming service. Here at KIWI Dog Grooming, we understand that life happens sometimes & would love to talk to you in the event that you need to cancel last minute. Communication is key.
- Clients arriving 15 minutes past their scheduled appointment time may not be able to be accommodated and may have to reschedule their appointment.
- If your pet does not do well with children or other animals, clients must pick up their pets when the grooming session is done. I always strive to provide a 30 minute heads up before the grooming process is completed.
FLEAS / TICKS / PARASITES
- Communication is a must. If your pet is not on flea or tick preventative, I need to know.
- If a pet is found to have fleas or ticks during the grooming, services will be provided immediately. I cannot wait for your permission to provide a flea bath as this is an emergency & cannot wait. Fleas are sometimes only noticed in the bath. A picture of the fleas or ticks will be taken.
- If fleas are present, there will be a $20 – $70 cleaning fee. Fees depend on the size of the pet. Cleaning your pets does kill the fleas and flea eggs that are currently on them. This process does not prevent fleas or ticks from jumping back on your pet when your pet arrives back home. I recommend obtaining flea & tick prevention while the groom is taking place.
- Clients will not be rebooked after 3 instances.
- Should your pet show any signs of internal parasites, I reserve the right to end the grooming session immediately.
TEMPERAMENT
- By agreeing to my policies you are agreeing, to the best of your knowledge, that your pet does or does not have any behavioral issues such as: biting, snapping, growling, scratching or any form of aggressive behavior towards a human or another animal.
- Pet owners are responsible for any damage inflicted by their pet to either the salon, stylist or equipment. I will follow the rules and regulations of the county and state in the event of a severe dog bite incident.
- Pet owners are financially responsible for any and all medical bills and treatments if the groomer is injured by their pet. There is a possibility that any aggressive pet may be returned to their owner and full or partial payment will be due.
- Please let me know of any prior grooming history you or your pet may not have found satisfactory. I want to avoid the repetition of poor or unpleasant experiences or situations.
- Every effort will be made to keep our scheduled grooms running smoothly. A typical pet groom can be completed in 2 to 4 hours from the time of your appointment. If your pet has behavior issues, health issues, or skin and coat problems, you may be looking at a longer period of time. I will be very thorough and aware of any extra time needed.
HEALTH CONDITIONS
- It is the pet owners’ responsibility to provide a healthy and groomable pet. Clients will advise me of any allergies, sensitivities, past injuries, medications given to your pet, or pre-existing medical conditions so I can avoid aggravating these situations.
- Any known preexisting conditions must be disclosed prior to grooming. It is under my discretion to tell the owner if their pet can not be groomed, due to existing health issues, at any point during the grooming process. If this happens, the owner has to pay a fee. This fee depends on the work accomplished before having to stop the grooming process.
- KIWI Dog Grooming is not liable for clipper irritation, minor knicks/scratches or skin irritation from grooming.
- KIWI Dog Grooming is held harmless from damages, loss or claims arising from any known or unknown preexisting condition of my pet.
MATTED PETS
As the owner, you agree to the following:
- Heavy matting can trap moisture and urine near the pet’s skin allowing mold, fungus or bacteria to grow, causing skin irritations that existed prior to the grooming process. Torn skin from mats can also harbor maggots or infection. After effects of mat removal procedures can include itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations, sores, abrasions or bruises and failure of the hair to re-grow. Ear bruising (hematomas) can also occur due to excessive head shaking after removal of mats on the ears. You understand & agree that I will not be held liable for injuries occurring from preexisting issues from excessive matting.
- Pricing to de-mat your dog will be an extra charge of $1 per minute. If your pup is brought to the salon with excessive knots, it will be pointed out to you & then you will be quoted an estimated extra charge for the grooming session. Brushing out your dog’s knots does take extra time, work, & product so an extra charge is necessary for compensation. There will be no surprise costs.
- The quote will be given to you before the grooming session starts. If this can not be done humanely, because your dog is very uncomfortable with brushing, then you will be updated & we will discuss how to move on with the appointment. There is always going to be an option of zipping or cutting out the knots and still producing the desired haircut. Sometimes though, there are too many knots to cut out & the desired haircut would look too choppy, so a complete shave down would then be suggested. Every case is different & an in person evaluation is necessary.
- I will not detangle severely matted dogs, as this is inhumane, and they will be shaved short to the skin and the owner will be counseled on future coat care.
DOUBLE COATED DOGS
- As the owner, you hold responsibility to maintain your dogs double coat. The price of your dog will stay consistent as long as they are kept on a consistent grooming schedule. For double coated dogs, the longer they go without grooming, the more work it is to then brush out the second coat that was shedding in the interim. Depending on how long you go without grooming your dog, or the season/weather, will depend on how much the second coat was shedding in the interim. If more work & product is involved in the grooming session, due to an impacted coat, it would take more time for the grooming process, so it would cost more money for the grooming session. Everything will be communicated upfront, before starting the groom, so I would ensure no surprise costs.
SOCIAL MEDIA
- Photos and/or video may be taken of your pet before, during or after their grooming session for use on KIWI Dog Grooming’s social media pages and other marketing purposes.
CORRECTIONS
- I strive to provide an exceptional service for you and your pet. If I have failed you in any way, please tell me immediately. If the haircut or nails need a correction and I am notified within 24 hours, I will correct the issue within seven days for no charge. Please do not wait.
PAYMENT AGREEMENT
- Payment can be issued through Venmo, Applepay, check or cash. Tips are not expected but appreciated. Thank you.
FINAL AGREEMENT
- I agree that if I have any issues with my pets groom or condition to contact KIWI Dog Grooming within 24 hours of your pets service.
